Engineering Manager, Data Engineering

Remote - Florida

About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Data Engineering team. You will set the technical direction of data infrastructure development and drive excellence in at least the following ways:

  • Organize, mentor, and develop the engineers on your teams
  • Build and maintain best-in-class engineering processes to promote engineer enablement
  • Cultivate a culture of excellence by recruiting and hiring great engineers
  • Work with Business Partners and Product Management to define key future state capabilities for commerce platforms.
  • Lead the ideation, technical development, and launch of key capabilities. Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of these products.
  • Influence and direct technical vision across all of Engineering
  • Partner with multi-functional teams to drive key business results

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 2+ years of big data  engineering management experience
  • Strong knowledge in data pipelines, ETL, and the technologies to create and support them. Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, Airflow, Kafka, etc.
  • Passion for driving constant excellence from every engineer
  • Consistent track record of growing and sustaining a large, highly functional engineering team
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, pipelines, and queues
  • Experience with data platforms at scale
  • Expertise with system architecture, application architecture, and technology evaluation at a large scale
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

Bonus if You Have:

  • Functional understanding of personalization systems and applications
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, pipelines, and queues
  • Experience with AWS including S3, Kinesis, Lambda, and other cutting edge technology
